International Kokondo AssociationInternational Kokondo Association (IKA) is the umbrella organization for two distinct Martial Arts: Jukido Jujitsu and Kokondo Karate. These Arts are Japanese in origin and American in development. In Kokondo the respect one has for the partner’s safety is a hallmark of one’s training. Kokondo’s Arts are for Self Defense, the purpose of any true Martial Art. Therefore the emphasis is not on Sport but on doing one’s best. Kokondo translates roughly as “the way of the past and present.” The techniques used in our self defense are traditional and time proven. The Situations we defend ourselves in are modern and complex. Therefore, we use the art of the ancients for modern self defense. |
